Island Osljak

The island of Ugljan (52 km2 and 75 km of irregular coastline) lies just opposite to Zadar, divided only by several nautical miles of the Zadar Channel. Evergreen pine forests, macchia, fig trees, vineyards and olive groves cover it. It has been tied to the sea, sailing and fishing for years, while its 2.000 years of experience in olive growing has left hundreds of thousands of olive trees and a tradition of producing olive oils of exceptional quality and fine aromas.

Those who love Mediterranean landscapes will enjoy its unforgettable views; one of the most impressive can be seen from the Venetian fortress of St. Michael (13th century). Artifacts from the Roman era, early medieval Croatian chapels, monasteries, island stone architecture and numerous villas testify to the early human habitation of this island. Over 2.500 hours of sunshine annually, stone and sandy beaches, a clean and crystal clear sea, various possibilities for accommodation, original cuisine and good ferry-line connections with Zadar and Biograd are only a few reasons to visit and stay on this island

The island of Pasman (63 km2, 65 km of irregular coast) belongs to the Zadar island group. It is connected to the island of Ugljan by a bridge over the Zdrelac straits, while ferryboat lines connect it to Zadar and Biograd. The Pasman Channel, which is at some places only 2 km wide, lies between the i sland and the mainland and it is dottedwith dozens of islets, which make this an ideal area for all types of water sports, sailing and diving. The sea currents in this area change direction every 6 hours, thus making the waters here among the cleanest in the entire Adriatic.
The island's well-preserved landscape contains many species of medicinal and aromatic herbs, vineyards, fields and olive groves, as well as numerous sand and gravel beaches, making it a true choice for those who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life in more populated areas.

Kali Monastery in Ugljan Muline - Rivanj Tkon

Human habitation on this island has been continous since prehistory, which can be seen in the ruins of Illyrian hill-forts, rustic Roman-era manor houses and the monastery on Cokovac hill near Tkon and in Kraj.

More than average 2.500 sunny hours per year, beautiful landscapes with thick pine forests, romantic sandy beaches, crystal clear sea and the mild mediterranean climate, numerous possibilities for accommodation, original cuisine and healthy food of local people, frequent road and ferry boat connections to the mainland … these are only few good reasons for visit and staying on the both islands. In this little island’s world, where nature and man are still living in a perfect harmony, you’ll find communicative and friendly hosts, which will make efforts to offer you a warm welcome and homely atmosphere.
